Ingredients

  • 2 cups of water
  • 2 black tea bags or 2 tablespoons of loose-leaf black tea
  • 1 cup of milk whole, skim, or any plant-based milk
  • 2-3 tablespoons of honey adjust to taste
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract optional
  • Ice cubes optional, for a cold version

Instructions

Boil The Water

  • Start by boiling 2 cups of water in a medium-sized pot. Take the water off the heat source as soon as it reaches a rolling boil.

Brew The Tea

  • Add the black tea bags (or loose-leaf tea in a tea infuser) to the hot water. Let the tea steep for about 3-5 minutes, depending on how strong you like your tea. For a stronger flavor, steep longer.

Heat The Milk

  • While the tea is steeping, heat 1 cup of milk in a separate pot over medium heat. Be careful not to let it boil; you just want it hot enough to mix well with the tea.

Combine Tea And Milk

  • Remove the tea bags (or tea infuser) from the pot. Slowly pour the hot milk into the tea, stirring gently to combine.

Add Honey And Flavor

  • Stir in 2-3 tablespoons of honey, adjusting the amount based on your desired sweetness level. For an extra touch of flavor, you can add 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract.

Serve Hot Or Cold

  • Hot Version: Pour the Honey milk Tea into mugs and enjoy immediately.
  • Cold Version: Let the tea cool to room temperature, then pour it over ice cubes in a glass.
