  • 2 black tea bags Assam, Ceylon, or a blend preferred by Starbucks
  • ½ cup whole milk or your choice of milk alternative for a vegan version
  • 2-4 tablespoons sugar honey, or your preferred sweetener; adjust to taste
  • Ice cubes optional, for serving it cold

  • Brew The Tea: Begin by boiling 2 cups of water. Once boiling, remove the tea bags from heat and steep them for 3-5 minutes, depending on how strong you like your tea. For a richer tea flavor akin to Starbucks, lean towards a 5-minute steep.
  • Sweeten Your Brew: Remove the tea bags and add your sweetener while the tea is still warm. Stir until the sweetener is completely dissolved. This step is crucial for achieving the smooth sweetness characteristic of Starbucks’ milk tea.
  • Add The Milk: Pour the milk into the tea and stir well. Whole milk is recommended if you’re aiming for the authentic Starbucks texture. However, any milk alternative can be used to cater to dietary preferences.
  • Chill Or Serve Hot: For a refreshing summer drink, let the tea cool to room temperature before adding ice cubes and serving. Alternatively, reheat the tea after adding milk for a comforting warm beverage during colder months.
