Ingredients

  • 2 teaspoons of high-quality oolong tea leaves
  • 1 cup of water
  • 1/2 cup of milk dairy or plant-based
  • 1-2 tablespoons of sugar or sweetener of choice optional
  • Ice cubes for a cold version

Instructions

Brewing The Oolong Tea

  • Heat the water to about 185°F (85°C). This temperature is crucial as too hot water can make the tea bitter.
  • Steep the oolong tea leaves for 3 to 5 minutes. Adjust steeping time according to your taste preference – less time for a milder flavor and more for a stronger brew.
  • Strain the tea leaves and set the brewed tea aside.

Preparing The Milk

  • Heat the milk gently. Avoid boiling it to maintain a smooth texture.
  • For a frothy touch, whisk the heated milk or use a milk frother.

Combining The Ingredients

  • In a cup, combine the brewed oolong tea and heated milk.
  • Add sugar or a sweetener if desired, and stir well.
  • For a cold version, let the tea cool down to room temperature, then add ice cubes.

Serving

  • Serve hot for a cozy beverage or cold for a refreshing drink.
  • Garnish with a sprinkle of oolong tea leaves or a cinnamon stick for an aromatic touch.
