Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup of fresh raspberries or frozen if out of season
  • 2 tablespoons of honey or sugar adjust to taste
  • 4 cups of water
  • 3-4 black tea bags or 2 tablespoons of loose-leaf black tea
  • 1/2 cup of tapioca pearls boba
  • Ice cubes
  • Optional: Milk or a milk alternative for a creamy version

Instructions
 

Raspberry Syrup Preparation

  • In a small saucepan, combine raspberries and 1 cup of water.
  • Bring to a simmer, then add honey or sugar.
  • Allow the mixture to simmer until the raspberries break down and the liquid reduces slightly, creating a syrup.
  • Strain the mixture to remove the seeds and set the syrup aside.

Brewing The Tea

  • Heat 3 cups of water in a kettle until boiling.
  • Steep the tea bags or loose-leaf tea in hot water for 3-5 minutes.
  • Allow the tea to cool to room temperature after removing the tea bags or straining the loose tea.

Cooking Boba Pearls

  • Boil a pot of water and add tapioca pearls.
  • Cook the boba as per the package instructions until they are soft and chewy.
  • Drain and rinse the cooked boba under cold water.

Assembling The Boba Tea

  • In a glass, add a few tablespoons of the raspberry syrup.
  • Add a generous scoop of cooked boba pearls.
  • Pour in the brewed tea.
  • Chill the tea by adding ice cubes.
  • Optional: Add a splash of milk or a milk alternative for a creamy version.
