Slice the orange, pit and chop the dates, and measure out your spices and tea.
Simmer The Base
In a medium saucepan, combine apple cider, water, cinnamon stick, cloves, cardamom pods, and orange slice. Bring to a gentle simmer over medium heat.
Add Tea And Dates
Reduce the heat to low and stir in the black tea and chopped dates. Let it steep for 5–7 minutes, stirring occasionally to ensure the dates soften and release their sweetness.
Strain And Serve
Use a fine mesh strainer to remove the tea leaves and spices. Pour the mulled cider into mugs and garnish with a cinnamon stick or orange slice if desired.
