Ingredients
  

  • 4 cups apple cider preferably unfiltered
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 tbsp loose-leaf black tea
  • 4 Medjool dates pitted and chopped
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 3 cloves
  • 3 cardamom pods lightly crushed
  • 1 orange slice
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg

Prep The Ingredients

  • Slice the orange, pit and chop the dates, and measure out your spices and tea.

Simmer The Base

  • In a medium saucepan, combine apple cider, water, cinnamon stick, cloves, cardamom pods, and orange slice. Bring to a gentle simmer over medium heat.

Add Tea And Dates

  • Reduce the heat to low and stir in the black tea and chopped dates. Let it steep for 5–7 minutes, stirring occasionally to ensure the dates soften and release their sweetness.

Strain And Serve

  • Use a fine mesh strainer to remove the tea leaves and spices. Pour the mulled cider into mugs and garnish with a cinnamon stick or orange slice if desired.
