Ingredients

  • 4 cups of water
  • 4 black tea bags
  • 1 cup fresh blackberries
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1 tablespoon freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • Ice cubes optional
  • Fresh mint leaves for garnish optional

Instructions

Infuse The Tea:

  • Start by bringing 4 cups of water to a gentle boil in a saucepan. Once boiling, remove it from heat and add the black tea bags.
  • Allow them to steep for about 5 minutes to achieve that perfect balance of flavor. Remove the tea bags and set the brewed tea aside.

Create The Blackberry Syrup:

  • Combine the fresh blackberries, honey, and a cinnamon stick in a separate saucepan. Simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the blackberries break down and the mixture forms a syrup-like consistency. This should take approximately 8-10 minutes.
  • Once ready, strain the mixture to remove seeds and cinnamon stick, leaving you with a smooth blackberry syrup.

Combine And Chill:

  • Now, it’s time to bring everything together. Pour the blackberry syrup into the brewed black tea and stir gently to ensure a thorough mix.
  • Add freshly squeezed lemon juice for that zesty kick. Allow the mixture to cool to room temperature before refrigerating for at least two hours. For a quicker chill, you can add ice cubes.

Serve And Garnish:

  • Once chilled, ladle the Blackberry Tea into glasses. Feel free to add ice cubes if desired. For that finishing touch, garnish your creation with fresh mint leaves.
  • This adds visual appeal and a hint of freshness that complements the overall flavor profile.
