- 3-4 cardamom pods crushed (optional)
- 1 cinnamon stick optional
- Fresh mint leaves optional, for garnish
Boil Water: Bring 4 cups of water to a boil in a pot.
Add Tea Leaves: Once the water is boiling, add the loose black tea leaves or tea bags to the pot. If you like strong tea, you can adjust the quantity of tea leaves accordingly.
Add Spices (Optional): If you enjoy a spiced flavor, add crushed cardamom pods and a cinnamon stick to the pot. This step is optional but adds a lovely aromatic touch to the tea.
Simmer: Reduce the heat to low and let the tea simmer for about 5-7 minutes. This allows the flavors to infuse into the water.
Add Sugar: Add 2-4 tablespoons of sugar to the tea, adjusting the amount to your preferred level of sweetness. Stir well until the sugar dissolves.
Strain: Once the tea has steeped and achieved the desired strength, strain the tea to remove the tea leaves or bags, as well as the spices.
Serve: Pour the Bedouin tea into cups and garnish with fresh mint leaves if desired.
